BE INSPIRED – the countdown to TOKYO 2020 Olympic Games is on!
OLYMPICS UNLEASHED IS COMING TO OUR REGION. The Olympics Unleashed Program presented by OPTUS is coming to ARMIDALE featuring Olympians Ian Thorpe (Swimming), Leisel Jones (Swimming) and Holly Lincoln-Smith (Water Polo). Together, the three Olympians boast a collection of 18 Olympic medals. The event will be hosted at Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Armidale and partnered by the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) with a presentation, athlete meet & greet, and activities.
There will be a BBQ, drinks and plenty of sports to participate in.

7.00pm BBQ dinner available for purchase & sports activities. Opportunity to meet Olympians
8.00pm Optus presents Outdoor Cinema - Olympic movie "Cool Runnings"
10.00pm Event Concludes

MEDIA & PHOTOGRAPHY - On the day, the media, PLC Armidale and/or the AOC will be filming, taking photographs and recording the event. We will assume that by attending, you provide permission for you and your family to be filmed and photographed. Please let PLC Armidale know as soon as possible if you would not like yourself or your child to be filmed, photographed and/or recorded this Friday.
CAR PARKING - Please park in the areas provided from Duval St and Crest Rd. There is also parking available outside around the perimeter of the College. Our "car parking attendants" will assist with parking directions where possible. Please remember to park appropriately (and not on our oval), ensure that your car is locked and that you do not leave any valuables behind.
FOOD - Our wonderful army of P&F volunteers have organised a variety of sumptuous dinner options available for purchase, including:
Sushi, Lamb & Vegetable Curries with Rice, Steak, Sausages & Salads.
All of the meat has been donated by MLA (Meat & Livestock Australia), a partner of the Olympics Unleashed program. The fabulous local business "The Welder's Dog" is also joining us to provide various beverages. A percentage of the proceeds from dinner takings on the night will go to a local charity.
Our PLC Armidale Senior Students will also be selling popcorn during the movie for a small fee.
SEATING - There is no reserved seating apart from the VIP allocated seats. Our College Prefects and Staff will be on hand to welcome you and show you to the nearest available options.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES - These will be on the grassed area opposite the Astra Arts Centre (thank you NIAS, Northern NSW Football, NSW Rugby and Optus). These will not operate should we have rain on the night.
OPTUS OUTDOOR CINEMA EXPERIENCE - featuring Olympic themed movie "Cool Runnings". The movie will be projected from a truck which will be parked at the Rose Garden car park. People are welcome to bring blankets, bean bags etc to sit on to enjoy the movie.
WEATHER - Armidale will shine on Friday! Our event will go ahead rain, hail or shine, however, if it does rain the Optus Outdoor Cinema will go ahead in the Astra Arts Centre and gym, exactly where our Olympians will be presenting from earlier in the evening, as we have big screens everywhere.
SECURITY - Please be advised that we will have Security Staff on campus, keeping everyone safe.
